Yellow, Hour Glass

A very fine and rare 18k yellow gold manual winding rectangle wristwatch red.1593.
With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming produciton of the movement in 1949 and subsequent sale on May 14th, 1958.

Ref.1593 was produced for 23 years beginning in 1944, the Patek Philippe reference 1593 nicknamed the "Hour Glass" was one of the first non-traditional shaped watches from the manufacturer. Approximately only 1000 examples were created of reference 1593 with 500 in yellow gold, 250 in pink gold, and 250 in platinum. This special hour glass shaped case with concave and convex lines was created by master casemaker Markowski (Geneva Key 8). Powering the watch is the mighty caliber 9'90 which wonderfully matches the shape of the case.
